This article is missing trivia.
The basic details are all here, but if you know some fun facts on these tracks, you should add them.

Bushes and Marshmallows is an album by C418 released in 2009 containing various songs he created for no particular reason.[1] Though finished and privately released on May 31, the album would not get a public release until August 1.[2]

Ironically, contrary to what the title may suggest, this album has little to do with C418's blog Bushes and Marshmallows (his English translation for the blog's German name Blödsinn am Mittwoch). In fact, it was the first album released by C418 to not originate entirely on the BAM blog, although several tracks do find their origins there.

The entire album is released under CC BY 3.0

Official descriptions

Bushes and Marshmallows was an album that was at the cusp of me starting work on Minecraft. It’s an eclectic mess of tongue-in-cheek songs that really have no other reason existing but because I wanted to make random stuff.

Another thing I recall is the name of the album. Bushes and Marshmallows was my english translation to a blog I used to host, called “Blödsinn am Mittwoch,” which translates into “silliness on Wednesday.” On that blog I created some piece of music every Wednesday, even if I had no time. It helped me get better at making music, and get better at making mediocre music under pressure, haha.

Now, Bushes and Marshmallows doesn’t really have anything to do with the blog, but I guess I just wanted to sort of memorialize the name like that. Bushes and Marshmallows. Blödsinn am Mitwoch. BaM. Bam.

Trivia

  • I believe I can fly is a parody on the song I Believe I Can Fly by R. Kelly.
  • C418 was once offered 100$ to make an uncensored version of the track.
I believe I can fly is not all that special, it’s just a dumb joke on lyrics. However someone told me they’d give me a hundred bucks if I ever release a version without the censorship. I never ended up doing that. Well, if I ever am short on cash, I’ll remember that.

Yes is a remix project. One of those where, like, famous artists ask you to remix their work and give you their stems. I kinda didn’t use any of their stuff in any way they wanted to, and I also never heard back from them. I don’t even remember who it was.

Höre is an improv piece where pretty much everything has been recorded in real time. I do not know why I decided to put in the “do a barrel roll sample.” I think this piece turned out quite great though. Except for said sample.

Trivia

—C418, #minecraft IRC

Trivia

Album trivia

  • sohnemann planned an ARG to help market the album's release. YouTube and Twitter accounts named EdwardTurret were created on the day of the private release, with various teasers and clues being posted in the following days. However, the idea was shelved after a couple of weeks and the puzzle was never finished. The initial plan was to spread unlabeled CDs "around town" which contained the full album and "cryptic links".[3]
  • The album artwork was taken by C418's longtime friend sohnemann in his parents' garden[4].
  • The name of the album was originally going to be "ty murn", the meaning of which was deliberately kept secret.[5]
  • Initially, the final track was built around a strings section similar to the first track. It is unknown which song it was or if it even ended up on the album at all.
