Minecraft - Volume Final (placeholder title), also unofficially referred to as Volume 3, is an upcoming and untitled major C418 release. The only known songs are the three used in the Minecraft Aquatic Update and an elusive 15-minute bonus track. Many believe that the album will be titled Minecraft — Volume Gamma, but this was confirmed to be untrue.

Initially planned to merely be a physical release of the first two volumes, it later became a separate third installment. Progress was smooth and routinely teased from 2015 until 2018, when the three Aquatic Update songs were released as singles. However, public acknowledgement and information about the album mysteriously stopped afterwards. Rumors were spread about a conflict between C418 and Microsoft that was causing the delay. On October 20, 2021, C418 announced he was no longer doing work on Minecraft due to disagreements with Microsoft and long-time exhaustion with the game. He reassured that album would eventually release in some form outside of Minecraft.

Tracks

Three tracks were added to Minecraft on 1.13 pre-release 1 as a part of the "Minecraft - Aquatic Update". All of them were sporadically released onto streaming services throughout 2018.

• Shuniji is also the name of a free synth that C418 might have used when creating this track.
• In Japanese, shuniji (主虹) also means "primary rainbow".

Axolotl

• Axolotl was released as the third and the last "Aquatic Update" single on December 12, 2018, featuring new piece of album art, varying significantly from the previous one.
• The title of this track is a reference to the species of aquatic salamander of the same name. Coincidentally, Axolotls were officially added as mobs in Minecraft as part of the 1.17 update.

Untitled 15 Minute Ambience

I’m interested in seeing how people use music as sleep aid, so I think on the next album I might put a bonus track on there that’s just 15 minutes of complete ambience and see what people think.

Album Trivia

• C418 also confirmed that the album will be longer than Volume Beta and Volume Alpha combined, which is 3 hours, 19 minutes, and 40 seconds.
• The album was originally slated for a summer 2017 release.
• It is speculated that the four tracks C418 made for Minecraft's Battle Mode will appear in the album, however this has not been officially confirmed.
• The final cover art's color scheme was stated to be "kinda red ish maybe", although the three singles are mostly blue with hints of red.
