Seven Years of Server Data is an eclectic collection of tracks from across the years that never found home in other albums, mostly created for events or C418's blog. A version of the album with only the first nine tracks was released shortly before the official release, under the name totally secret.
Official descriptions
After cleaning up the folders on my server I decided to put up a collection of some songs as a free album.
Bear with me though as this is a very varied collection from very old music to very recent remixes. Some might sound terrible and the sound quality is something that could be better (FLAC will not save you most of the time).
However, I hope you appreciate this album as what it is.
Seven Years of Server Data! I uploaded this album before I went to the first Minecon, hosted in Las Vegas. I had some sort of sinus infection that resided somewhere within my ears. It was so bad that I lost my sense of gravity. This is what I remember when I think about Seven Years.
Obviously that’s not what this album is about though, lol. Seven Years is a collection of actual seven years of music I uploaded onto my server, for whatever reason. Most likely to share it with friends. I never put these songs anywhere, so I decided to make it a free album.
Tracks
Atempause
A remix for Danny Baranowsky's soundtrack for Binding of Isaac. Made in under 2 hours as a "speedrun"
Trivia
- Atempause is the german for "Respite".
Vlem
A song I made in the Vlambeer office to test the CPU of my new laptop.
There’s a lot of varied and crazy stuff in here, like Vlem, which is a song I made while sitting on the floor of Vlambeers office.
BGC418
A few collaborations, like BGC418, which I did with Jimmy Hinson, or Big Giant Circles.
Trivia
- This track is the only collaboration between BigGiantCircles and C418, but a BGC song, A Rose in a Field, was remixed as Jimtention, and cliffside hinson was named after BGC (whose real name is Jimmy Hinson).
- BGC418 was also released on BigGiantCircles' album Imposter Nostalgia, which also featured a collaboration with Disasterpeace (who C418 remixed in Kompass).
mau5cave
The song I sent to Deadmau5 when we were collaborating. This was one step before the final product.
Deadmau5 worked with me too briefly, on mau5cave.
We kinda tested out if collaborating even works and actually we did really well considering we were just fooling around. Here’s a potential minecraft tune.
The first unfinished song for the Minecraft documentary
I doubt this song will sound like this once the documentary is done.
[The first unfinished song for the Minecraft documentary] still does appear once or twice in the film. I decided not to put it in “one” though, simply because that album already is doing overtime, and I think there would have been a limitation with the CD’s if it would still be there. However, it’s available freely on “Seven Years”, so I don’t feel too bad for not including it. There’s not really a totally finished version of it because it didn’t ultimately fit the overall tone of the rest of the soundtrack, and that’s why it only appears in short versions.

Trivia
- This track was never fully used within Minecraft: The Story of Mojang as C418 decided the tone did not fit the rest of the soundtrack, thus why there is no completed version of this track present on one. [2]
- However, small portions of the track were used throughout the documentary
The song I show if someone wants to hear a new Minecraft song
Most people don't get my joke
Tonic (C418's "I use this in my set" remix)
Lusine Icl and Weebl didn’t really work with me. I just kinda remixed their stuff, haha.
Lemons (C418's "I want this to be a complete song" mix)
Sorry Weebl.
Lusine Icl and Weebl didn’t really work with me. I just kinda remixed their stuff, haha.
water
I was playing with water and made a little song
Trivia
a fail
As far as I know this song was created from random samples someone made for people to use in their games. I had fun deconstructing them.
The weirdest remix I ever worked on.
This is a collaborative effort between smn and me. The way we created this remix is that each person took a turn to work on 4 seconds on the song. After that the turn was over and the other person had to make the next 4 seconds.
The outcome is weird.
This song must be 3 to 4 years old.
The weirdest remix I ever worked on is actually the weirdest remix I ever worked on. The way I did it is with an old friend of mine that I cherish, Jannik. I created a project file with premade instruments and drumsets and all. And we had the goal that we each get two bars to work on until the next person has to go back and work on it. And so forth and so on. It’s kind of a mental song because we kept joking around with the transitions.
Some really obscure ambient tune
I hardly remember what this was for. Or when I made it. I'm pretty sure I was not happy with it though.
komphund
This is extremely old. I always liked it though and I still like it a bit. Because it's weird
I simply love this one. No sense in melody, but still kinda wonderful to listen to.
Connections
The original Komphund appears on 2 as a longer version of the track.
Not Atlantis
This song must be about 4 years old. I like how quirky it is, and the mastering quality is good considering my old stuff has really terrible engineering skills :).
Not Atlantis is a song I still cherish. I just love the atmosphere I managed to create.
Connections
Not Atlantis was originally released as the first track on the album Mubbly Tower, the soundtrack for the game of the same name.
Another weird ambient tune.
This one's somewhat good but a bit too boring. Not entirely sure what it was for or how old it is exactly.
sirtet
I had a fun little personal competition with an old good friend to make a fun song out of the rewinded gameboy tetris tune. Yep.
And Sirtet is tetris backwards.
What it would have sounded like if I were to DJ 5 years ago
A collection of preetty old techno-ish songs. Most of them have really terrible overall sound engineering, so I shortened them drastically.
Cobalt Something Something
Remix for Oxeye's Cobalt
Man, this is all quite some old stuff, haha!
